[Study of the characteristics of new rice variety "Onchon 9" suitable for the paddy field of tideland]

New rice variety "Onchon 9" suitable for the paddy field of tideland has more tolerance to salinity than standard variety, "Pyongyang 15". Therefore, its grain yield per hectare is over 110% higher than standard varieties. Its yield can be increased in the level of 130-150 hills per Pyong and of application of 800 kg per hectare as an ammonium sulphate, in the paddy field of tideland of over 0.1% salinity concentration. This variety can be cultivated in the paddy field of tideland in west coast including Onchon County South Pyongan province
