Yield performance of PSBRC 4 as affected by the split application of NPK and different foliar fertilizer

The effect of the split application of NPK combined with the different foliar fertilizers was determined on the yield components of PSBRC 4 Rice Variety during the 1993 wet season. The results showed that the number of productive tillers per plant, number of spikelet per panicle and the weight of 1000 grains were not significantly affected. Likewise, individual effect of split application of NPK and foliar fertilizers showed no significant effect on the grain yield. However, the combined treatments gave significant results on the grain yield. Moreover, it was observed that the variety used was lodging prone and this may influence the non-responsive effect of the variety to the treatments
