The list of food plants for Halictus rubicundus was compiled on the basis of investigations, carried out during 1960-92 and of literature. The list contained 107 species of 24 plant families. The Halictus species visited most willingly the flowers of Compositae. The main food plants for this bee species are: Taraxacum, Leontodon and Salix. It seems, this bee may be a pollinator of rape, lucerne and red clover. Its nest sites and growing plants of Salix, Taraxacum and Leontodon should be protected near seed-cultures of lucerne and red clover
