Analysis of induced supaeromaculata mutants in pea
1995
Sidorova, K.K. | Uzhintseva, L.P.
Six supaeromaculata mutant lines, K11, K333, K456, K469, K555, and K852, induced in pea of variety Torsdag, were crossed with the initial variety for determining the type of inheritance and with one another (tests for allelism). It was found that these lines are recessive monogenic mutants differing in the expression of the mutant trait. All the mutants are allelic. Identical alleles were found in lines K11 and K582 and in lines K456 and K469. It is concluded that gene aero has a series of multiple alleles: aero1 (K11 and K582) - aero2 (K333) - aero3 (K555) - aero4 (K456 and K469) - Aero (wild type). Judging from the production of beans, alleles aero1 and aero2, both in the hetero- and homozygous state, have a more favourable effect on plants
