The study of different nitrogenous fertilizer applications (standard and slow-release) demonstrates that ammonium nitrogen in soil is the dynamic part of inorganic nitrogen. The slow-release nitrogenous fertilizer (MFK) with a low activity index (IA = 34.05) increases N-NH4** (1) content the most of all the observed nitrogenous fertilizers. The high activity index influences N-NH4** (1) content in the soil negatively but increases nitrate nitrogen content. N-NH4** (1) reaches maximum during the flowering stage of winter wheat (the 2nd sampling) and hits minimum during harvest (the 3rd sampling). It is connected with the progress of hydrothermic conditions of nitrogen form transformation in the soil. The knowledge obtained can be used in plant nutrition and environmental protection.
