Authors observed the growth and development of body proportion in small sporting horses in the F1 generation. This generation has arisen by crossing warmblooding mares with Welsh pony B. The authors compare it with the body measurements and weights of Arabic horses. At the age of 5 the small sporting horses of F1 generation attained an average withers height of 141.50 cm, circumference of thorax 174.45 cm and weight of 347.61 kg. Those values are lower than those of Arabic horses (height 155.33 cm, thorax circumference 180.42 cm and weight 469.91 kg). The most intensive growth in the small sporting horses' body proportions was attained in the 1st years. The withers height measured by stick is 89.87 % of the height at adult age. These horses are of generous exterior and riding types.
