The dynamics of starch content in the above-ground organs of barley plants was studied. The results proved that the content of starch during the primary infection was significantly lower infested plants compared with the healthy ones. The amount of starch decreased after the 1st 5 days of primary infection. Later on the 8th till the 10th day after inoculation the content of starch in the diseased plants was significantly higher than in control. Biochemical analysis was completed with electron microscopy observations demonstrating localization of starch grains in the chloroplast.
