Standard methods of moisture content in fertilizers had been compared with practical laboratory method. Chemicals and fertilizers in this experiment were urea and those containing urea, triple superphosphate and materials containing triple superphosphate, ammonium sulfate, potassium choloride, monoammonium phosphate, diammonium phosphate and 26-0-0. For practical laboratory method, all samples had been dried at 75 deg C for 20 hours. For standard methods, temperature and time of drying depended on each kind of fertilizer. Urea and fertilizers containing urea, dried samples at 75 deg C for 8 and 16 hours too. Six replications were investigated. Average moisture of urea and fertilizers containing urea dried at 75 deg C for 20 hours diverted from those dried at 4 hours as high as 45-104 %. Moisture content in diammonium phosphate determined by standard method was lower than practical laboratory method because of volatile matter reduction. Reciprocal results showed for other chemicals and fertilizers.
