Gradation of early oak defoliators in the forests of National park "Djerdap" [Serbia, Yugoslavia]

In spring of 1991, in the oak forests of National park "Djerdap" (Serbia, Yugoslavia), the gradation culmination of early oak defoliators was registered in management units "Zlatica', "Boljetinska Reka", "Boljetin - Pecka bara", "Kozica" and "Crni vrh" on the area covering 3856 ha. The total of 11 defoliator species from five families was noted, but Geometridae, small winter moth (Operophtera brumata L.) in particular, were extremely dominant in all the management units. The average number of females/1 cm in volume above the critical number was registered in all of the five management units during the control of number of female winter moths in fall 1991, by the adhesive belts method.
