Effect of long-term fertilization on soybean yield was studied. A trial was established on a soil that was fertilized with various NPK doses for 25 years (a - no fertilization, b - N70P60K40, c - N110P90K60, d - N150P120K80). The effect of Nitrogen on soybean yield that was fertilized before sowing with N60P60K60 was studied as well. The trials were conducted for three years (1991-1993). Long-term application of fertilizers had no effect on yield in favourable years. However, in dry years, such as was 1992, the control variant (a) gave the highest yield, that was significantly higher than fertilized variants (b and c).
