Integrated energy systems in distillation plants

Two basic concepts approach for integrating mechanical vapour recompression into distillation plants are identified: 1) with an intermediary fluid, and 2) vapour recompression with overhead vapours (heat pump system). The economics justification of mechanical vapour recompression using centrifugal compressors is shown that thermal energy saving achieved by recompression is 36.7-47.1 depend on feed temperature. A thermocompression process includes adiabatic throttling of bottom product in the expansion vessel, and injection vapour produced in a working fluid. The great effects on saving thermal energy and pollution reducing are extected by integration of the thermocompression into destillation plants. Thermal energy saving achieved by thermocompression is 20.
