Methods are described for plant regeneration via nodules of Anthurium scherzerianum. Leaf explants were taken from in vitro shoot stock cultures. Various types and concentrations of growth regulators were tested. Nodules were induced on an agar medium supplemented with 4.0 mg per liter 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), high sugar concentrations (4 per cent sucrose + 2 per cent glucose) and 0.18 per cent gelrite, incubated for 1 to 2 weeks, then subcultured to medium with 0.1 mg per liter kinetin, 3 per cent sucrose and 0.18 per cent gelrite. Proliferat-ion of nodules were established on a liquid medium with 3 per cent sucrose, supplemented with either 0.1 mg per liter N6benzyladenine (BA), 2-isopentenyladenine (2iP) or kinetin and 1.5 mg per liter Paclobutra-zol. Removal of Paclobutrazol resulted in shoots and roots formation. Single or clusters of nodules were hardened on agar medium and successfully transplanted to the greenhouse.
