Fodder galega has a high productivity: 30 000-75 000 kg ha (-1) of green material, 6000 - 17 500 kg ha (-1) of hay, 300 - 700 kg ha (-1) seeds. Its productivity and nutritive value depends on development stage, seeding rate, rows spacing and sowing time. Early sowing is the most successful. The green matter yield in this variant is 61 300 kg ha (-1), dry matter- 12 790 kg ha (-1), hay - 14 200 kg ha (-1), 11 322 feed units per ha and 2035 kg ha (-1) digestible proteins. The yield differences among sowing time variants on the first three years are the greatest. The highest galegas yield is at 24 cm rows spacing and 10-15 kg ha (-1) seeding rate. The fibre and dry matter content in green material increase rapidly during the development of plants so the 1st cut should be done in budding beginning of flowering of galega
