Removal of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and calcium from alluvial swamps with yield of cereal grass stand utilized for cutting
1996
Annuk, K. (Estonian Agricultural Univ., Tartu (Estonia))
The effect of ammonium nitrate on the removal of plant nutrients (N, P, K, Ca) with increasing yield depends on the amount of applied ammonium nitrate, the frequency of cuttings and species of grass stands. Where plant nutrients removed with the yield are not returned through fertilizers, the soil will become depleted. A persistent negative balance results in a reduction in yield as well as productivity. Long-term continuous production should be applied to alluvial swamps only in the case of preceding fertilizer application (P, K)
