Reproductive performance and milk productivity of Estonian Large White sows

Correlations between reproduction records of Estonian Large White pig are found on the basis of observations of 171 litters. Using the method of variance analysis, there was observed the substantiality of different factors (F-test). Exploited records were registered in 1994-1995. All gilts were progeny tested and purebred. Exploited reproduction records were the number of the litter, litter size, litter size on 21 days and milk productivity. In discussion of results great importance is attached to the connections of the birth weight of the piglets and litter size with other progeny records. According to the growing of litter size there is observed decreasing of survival of the piglets. Considerable influence on litter size have both gilts and boars
