The effect of different landforms with water applicationon the yield of sweet potatoes (Ipomoea batatas)

The study investigated the effects of mechanised land forming methods (mounds, ridges and cambered)with water application on dry season yield of the crop. Yields recorded were generally low. However significant differences (P0.05) existed between the different landforms. Ridging gave the highest yield followed by mound and cambered in that order. Total dry matter (TDM) content of tyber and vines were positively correlated with yield (r=0.97) and r=0.78 respectively). Moisture content of tubers at harvest time showed negative correlation (r=0.97) with yield
