First record of twenty three species of aphids (Homoptera: Aphidoidea) in Greece

By sampling and by trapping with yellow water-pan traps from 1988 until 1992, 23 species of aphids of the family Aphididae (Homoptera: Aphidoidea), representing 6 subfamilies [Aphidinae (15 species), Anoeciinae (1), Callaphidinae (1), Chaitophorinae (1), Lachninae (2), Pemphiginae (3)] were found in Greece for the first time. Most of these species were found in northern Greece [Thrace (9 species), Macedonia (3), Thrace and Macedonia (2), Epirus (5)]. Fewer species were found in southern Greece (Peloponnesus 5 species) and only one species was found in central Greece (Thessalia).
