In the plant protection of wine grapes against various diseases and pests one of the most important elements is to prevent damage caused by instects, and mainly by grapeberry moths. The spotted and the saddled grapeberry moth can be found in nearly every plantation. They cause damage on the plant from the beginning of sprouting till the end of the growing period. The typical damage caused by caterpillars of the first generation is the sprout and flower being covered and crossed over by threads produced by the caterpillar, which phenomenon is called a tangle. The larvae of later generations perforaze or drill the berry, opening the way to fungus infections
