Nitrogen and phosphorus fertilization on maize on a calcareous meadow soil
1995
Harmati, I. (Gabonaterm. Kut. Int., Szeged (Hungary))
Questions involved in maize fertilization were studied for four years in a monoculture on a calcareous meadow soil rich in humus, with increasing rates of N and P fertilizer and their combinations, at plant densities of 50, 70 and 90 thousand plants per hectare. The Al-soluble P2O5 content of the cultivated soil layer changed as a function of the annual P rates distributed. The grain yield of maize (averaged over 4 hybrids) was substantially increased by N fertilization. P fertilization increased the grain yield of maize to an extent depending on the fertilizer rate and on the P supply level of the soil
