Four dairy cattle which suffered from luteal cyst and four cyclic dairy cattle were used in this study. The blood samples were collected and subjected to RIA for progesterone analysis. The blood samples were done every other day for one month period. The results of this study showed that the blood progesterone concentration in dairy cattle groups which suffered from luteal cyst was significantly (P0.01) higher than those found in the cyclic dairy cattle groups (9.28 vs 2.41 micro g/ml). The data indicated that the lowest and the highest blood progesterone level were 0.33 and 5.68 micro g/ml recorded at the stage of oestrous and dioestrous in the cyclic dairy cattle groups. However, blood progesterone concentration found in dairy cattle which suffered from luteal cyst ranged from 7.93 to 10.83 micro g/ml. The luteal cyst existence could be diagnosed properly by rectal palpation and supported by hormonal assay
