Method for Simultaneous measurement of ABA, IAA and GAs in citrus fruit (Citrus unshiu Marc. cv. Ozaki) was investigated. When both ether and ethyl acetate extracts from whole fruits were chromatographed by HPLC, almost GAs activity was present in the early eluted fractions. As these fractions were gradually diluted and were applied for the bioassay, GAs activity calculated from a standard curve tended to increase until the threshold for measurement of GAs activity, possibly because the substances that inhibit the GAs a activity were diluted. Thus when only the early effluent on HPLC from ether and ethyl acetate extracts was collected, diluted gradually and applied for the bioassay together, the simple assay of total GAs content could be developed. Using this simple procedure, it was observed that within a young citrus fruit 60 days after full bloom ABA and IAA were present in pulp and GAs in axis at highest concentrations. Thus, this method should be proved very useful for the simultaneous measurement of ABA, IAA and GAs fom one extract of citrus fruits
