The optimum manufacturing conditions of producing cement bonded boards using binuang (Octomeles sumatrana Miquel) species was studied through actual board manufacture. Experimental boards were made with varying amount of cement, binuang excelsior, water and cement-setting accelerator, and board density. These were evaluated by determining the modulus of rupture (MOR), Modulus of elasticity (MOE), Nail-head-pull-through (NHPT), Thickness swelling (TS) and Water absorption capacity (WA) of the boards. Results revealed that cement/wood ratio, board density and cement-accelerator combination significantly affected MOR, MOE, TS and WA of the boards. On the other hand, cement/wood ratio and cement-accelerator combination significantly affected the NHPT. At a density of 650 kg/cu m with cement/wood ratio of 60:40 or 50:50, Portland cement as binder and CaCl2, and a commercial cement accelerator (Houston H466) as cement accelerators, good quality wood wool cement bonded boards (WWCB) can be produced from binuang
