A three year (Summer, 1986-87, 1987-88 and 1988-89) field trial was performed to assess the influence of sowing dates (1st April, 15th April, 1st May and 15th May) on the growth and yield of cotton varieties (Qalandri, TH-1100, TH-1174, TH-198/80, TH-3/83 and Rehmani) at Agronomy experimental field of Agricultural Research Institute, Tandojam. Crop planted from 1st April to 1st May at 15 days interval gave better seed cotton yield, mainly due to greater number of bolls and single plant yield, further delay in planting beyond 1st May progressively depressed the seed cotton yield. Varieties Qalandri, TH-3/83 and TH-199/80 produced significantly higher seed cotton yield as compared to Rehmani, TH-1100 and TH-1174 respectively.
