Response of cotton to inter tillage and irrigation schedule under lowland after rice condition

A study aimed at determining the effects of inter tillage and irrigation frequency/schedule on cotton under lowland after rice condition was conducted at the Central Experiment Station, Batac, Ilocos Norte [Philippines]. Minimum tillage method was employed and the use of glyphosate herbicide was used to control the existing weeds. Hilling-up and no hilling-up operation in heavy soil type did not give added advantage to that of the unhilled treatments in terms of number of bolls, boll weight and seedcotton yield. On the other hand, 5 x irrigation frequency (11, 21, 39, 61, and 84 DAE) and 4x with terminal irrigation at 74 DAE (11, 21, 39, and 74 DAE) produced higher seed cotton yield and net income
