Quantitative relationships between dry matter production of maize and content of total nitrogen

The field experimentd were conducted in 1986-91. Nitrogen was applied at the rates from 0 to 270 kg/ha with 30 kg intervals. The results were analysed statistically using the calculus of correlation and regression. The relation between maize dry matter yield and the concentration of N total, was the best described with logarithmic and exponential functions. It was stated that the strongest changes of N-total content were in early development stages of maize
