The old and unwanted pesticides were collected for many years in the special places and in storage tombs. After several years it has been shown that storaged pesticides are a real hazard especiall for the water resources and for open waters. In 1994 the investigations concerning this difficult problem has been started. The authors believed that this problem may be solved during 5-8 years. Institute of Plant Protection takes part in three allover Poland programmes with theoretical and practical aspects. The main objective is to have good basis for systematically solving of the problem of unwanted pesticides in Poland
