Effectiveness of two new fungicides - fluquiconazole and pyrimethanil - in control of apple scab and powdery mildew on apple trees cv. McIntosh was evaluated in 1992-94. Fluquiconazole, an active ingredient of Palisade 25 WP formulation belonging to ergosterol biosynthesis inhibitors (EBI) group, provided a good control of powdery mildew but sometimes was not effective against apple scab. As opposite, pyrimethanil from anilino pyrimidines group, an active ingedient of Mynthos 300 SC, provided very good control of apple scab but was not so effective against powdery mildew. Clarinet 200 SC, a preparation containing both fluquiconazole (50 g/l) and pyrimethanil (150 g/l), as well as a tank-prepared mixture of Palisade 25 WP and Mythos 300 SC provided a very good control of both diseases
