Organizational and legal conditions for conducting economic activity in agriculture in Poland by foreign investors
1996
Kolodziej, A. (Agencja Wlasnosci Rolnej Skarbu Panstwa, Warszawa (Poland))
Liberalization of regulations binding in Poland, started in the 1980s and continuing to this day, creates conditions that become more conducive to foreign capital inflow. With the shortage of domestic capital resources, this may play a significant role in the process of restructuring Polish agriculture. Agricultural restructuring will not be supported by the part of those foreign investors who are mainly interested in buying or leasing farm land, especially in greater complexes, for the purpose of huge scale farming. That is the reason why recently introduced legislation makes easier access to land for investment purposes. According to these amendments Council of Ministers is authorized to enact a decree according to which the land (no more than 1 ha) can be purchased
