The trial was carried out on 704 suckling piglets allotted to seven treatment groups and investigated the application way and the productive effects of two probiotics produced by ICA-Bucharest (Bifidofort - an acidiated whey with S. faecium 1 x 10 power 6, L. acidophilus 1 x 10 power 7 and L. bifidus 1 x 10 power 6 and a strain of atomized S. faecium). The probiotics, in a liquid form, were administrated in a single oral dose of 4 ml or of 20 ml sprayed on sow's udder or on the floor in the first 20 days after birth. The piglets which received the probiotics per os realized 10 per cent more daily gain compared to control, but only between 21-35 days after birth. The piglets which received the probiotics sprayed on the udder or on the floor realized 5 per cent more daily gain compared to control but only in application period of probiotics. The mortality in experimental groups was reduced with 40-50 per cent compared to control in the first 3 weeks after birth, when a yellow neonatal diarrhoea has evolved in the farm. The bacteriological examination and the pH of the digestive tract and the faeces confirms the hypothesis of lactic bacteria multiplication from the stomach and small intestine in piglets of 15 days old.
