The experiment was carried out at Romsuintest Peris S.A. and Suintest Gornesti. The crossbred boars superiority is determined by both individual heterosis and breeds complementarity. The experimental results outlined a higher libido expressed as a better adaptation to the dummy sow selection (70 per cent instead of 55 per cent at pure paternal breeds) and better sperm viability at 24 hours after collection (62.29 per cent instead of 58 per cent at H and 60 per cent at D). As a result of this superiority were obtained a fertility of 89 per cent at the level of females F1 (LW x L) mated with crossbred boars (H x D) and better reproductive performances (no. of piglets). The growth and carcass of commercial hybrids outlined only a difference for the age at slaughter (+7 days), while for the rest, the differences were not significant. The economic efficiency recommends the crossbred terminal boar F1 for crossbreeding programs.
