Mungbean responded to the application of phosphate fertilizer at 9 kg P2O5 per rai, rock phosphate at 200 kg per rai and lime at 100 kg per rai but not other inputs. The applications of phosphate fertilizer and/or lime is necessary for mungbean production on Khok Khian Soil at Phatthalung. The number of days requiresd for lime fermentation was studied using Khok Khian Soils. Mungbean variety PSU 1 was planted 0, 7, 14 and 21 days after liming. No differences in yield were obtained from these dates. No fermenting period is required for lime application. Experiment on weed free and weed competition showed that weed free for one month or more is necessary for mungbean production. Weed competition suppressed seed yield or mungbean at all levels.
