Tomato intercropped in eucalyptus plantation produced the highest yield in summer, the rainy season and winter as compared with mungbean and corn. Soil conditions and ecology were not influenced by eucalyptus. In addition, insect pests and weeds less in field with eucalyptus trees than that without the trees. This may be due to volatile oils given off from fallen leaves, which have a property of being a germination inhibitor and an insect repellant.
