Flow properties of corn grain: the testing of "Elvaco" device for rough cleaning of grain

Cleaning of corn depends on its flow properties. The results of investigations of dependence on the specific pressure drop from the air speed flow through the layer of filled corn grain, stagnant and fluidized grain layer are presented in the paper. Analytical model of that dependence for the case of stagnant layer was obtained. Besides that, device "Elvaco" for rough grain cleaning has been tested. The results of testing of device operation are given in the paper. The results of testing show that the installation was well designed for intendent purposes. The aspiration tract of installation is designed and adjusted very well for corn grain cleaning, which resulted in more efficient separation of smaller cracks, foreign materials and impurities.
