Regulation of synthesis and secretion of fungal pectinases
1996
Antov, M.
Synthesis and secretion of pectinases by fungi Aspergillus niger and Polyporus squamosus were studied. It has been concluded that pectinases of Aspergillus niger are partially inducible. The most effective inducer was apple pectin DE 50. Inorganic phosphate stimulated the production of biomass (twice) and endo- and exo-pectinases production (2-3 times). Endo-pectinases of Polyporus squamosus are inducible and exo-pectinases are partially inducible. Pectin esterase was not detected. The most effective inducer of endo activity was highly esterified pectin and for exo activity was pectin DE 50. Inorganic phosphate also stimulated production of biomass (2.67 times) and secretion of pectinases (3.5 times). Purifying and separation of endo- and exo-pectinases produced by both fungi showed few multiple forms, which are probably the result of posttranslational modifications.
