In the present seed treatment tests eight combinations of fungicides (Benomyl, Iprodion and Thiram, single and in all mutual combinations as like Carboxin) were tested on seeds of carrot, cichory, corn-salad, mangel, head cabbage, with blotter- and agartest. The seeds were contaminated with fungi from following genera: Arthrobotrys, Cephalosporium, Cladosporium, Gliomastix, Ostracoderma, Rhizopus, Verticillium and Alternaria sp. that appear most frequently on all seeds. On contrary to the expectations the contamination with Botrytis- and Fusarium species was found in very low percentage, so it is no possible to draw some conclusions about the efficacy of fungicides on it. The efficacy of benomyl on Alternaria sp. was well known low: this fungicide is not suitable for treatment of seeds contaminated with the mentioned fungus. All fungicide combinations especially these of three fungicides showed the best results on vegetable seeds with exception of mangel. On carrots, cichory and head cabbage the combination of three fungicides enabled the best germination. The exception is corn-salad seed with no efficacy. With Iprodion good results were ascertained without any side effects. It acted the best against Alternaria sp. on mangel.
