Aldicarb (Temik) is a carbamate insecticide, currently used in agriculture. Its sale and its use are strictly regulated. However, the great number of poisoning cases lately observed in both domestic and wild animals lets believe in the existence of a parallel fraudulent channel. Indeed, the percentage of toxicological analysis which are positive for Temik has gone up from 5.2 to 21 per cent in 4 years. Hundreds of baits of all kinds containing this pesticide were also discovered in various places of the country. The toxicological mechanisms, the symptomatology, the diagnosis and treatment methods of aldicarb poisonings are also reviewed in this paper.
