Investigation of the electrical resistance of potato tubers

Results from an experimental investigation of the total electrical resistance and that of its reactive component to potato, Jerusalem artichoke and beet tubers are presented, by using immersion and needle-shaped measuring electrodes. It is demonstrated that the main effect on the value and the character of variation of these quantities was produced by their superficial tissue. A substituting electrical scheme of the vegetable tissue of potato tubers, differing from that of the Jerusalem artichoke and of the beet was proposed, based on the obtained frequency responses of the total resistance and of its reactive component.
