Cytological study on a telotrisomic in rice

Aneuploid related to centromere is very important to centromere mapping. In order to obtain these aneuploids, the progeny of Zhongxian 3037 primary trisomics were investigated both in morphology and cytology. A variant was found from the progeny of triplo-1. Cytological study at premetaphase of mitosis and pachytene of meiosis verified that the variant had 25 chromosomes in somatic cell and the extrachromosome was a short arm of chromosome 1. So the variant is a telotrisomic of the short arm of chromosome 1 and named T1s
