Changes of vitamin E content of blood plasma and liver during the early postnatal development of domestic fowl and geese
1997
Mezes, M. (Godolloi Agrartud. Egyet., Godollo (Hungary))
The author investigated the changes of vitamin E content of blood plasma and liver with sampling during the first five weeks of age in the case of domestic fowl and during the first fourty day period in the case of geese. It was found that the vitamin E content of blood plasma increased constantly in both investigated species while the vitamin E content of liver decreased dramatically particularly within the first weeks of age in both avian species. Background of the decrease would be the changes of the activity of enzyme system with tocopherol-reducing capacity. The result call attention to the importance of vitamin E supply of domestic fowl and geese during the early postnatal development
