The authors studied effect of the previous night's catches on the quantity of insects obtained next night by the light by the light trap, operated by mercury vapour lamps of 250 W and killing by burning carbonic disulphide. It was concluded that, after catching more individuals than the average, a significant decrease can be expected next night, even if this number means only a relatively small proportion of total number of the generation. But if this catch is extremely high, the fall will be significant only, if the number of trapped individuals represents a considerable proportion of the total number of the generation
