[Dependence of winter wheat yields on crop weediness caused by soil tillage methods]

In the period of 1989-1994 trials were carried out at the Jonishkelis Experiment Station with the aim to find out the possibilities to reduce primary and presowing soil tillage for winter wheat after perennial grasses. Soil was soddy carbonate heavy loam. Two methods of stubble breaking after the preceding crop were investigated. The tillage technology and the implements used in the trial are described. The results of the trial are discussed. They show that for an effective weed control stubble breaking after perennial grasses with the use of mouldboard breaker gives better results than using a disk breaker
