[General principles of rating residual herbicide quantities in forest nursery soils]
1997
Pavluchenkova, L. (St.Peterburg Research Institute of Forestry, St.Peterburg (Russian Federation). Lab. of Forestry and the Chemical Application in the Forest)
To determine and prove the permissible herbicide concentration limits in forest nursery soil, scientifically-methodical approach to that problem has been studied at St.Peterburg Research Institute of Forestry. Field trials and laboratory experiments were carried out for 5 years. The qualitative and quantitative effect of herbicide influence on coniferous tree plants was studied. As the result of the studies herbicide concentration limits in forest nursery soil were determined. It was stated that soil herbicides should be differentiated according to their phytotoxicity. Herbicide application should depend on the composition of tree species, their age as well as soil and climate conditions in the nurseries
