1997
Lapina, N. | Klasens, V. (Latvian University of Agriculture, Jelgava (Latvia). Dept. of Plant Biology)
The germinating ability of some weed species was tested under laboratory conditions. The intensity of weed seed germination was determined in such weed species as Chenopodium album L., Galinsoga parviflora Cav., Cirsium arvense L. An expressed and stable dormancy period was stated. During three-weed period depending on the weed species only 1-20 usually germinated at 19 deg C in the thermostat. The stimulation of dry and pre-drenched seeds by green and red light did not have any significant influence on germination processes. The number of germinated seeds of Chemopodium album L. and Galinsoga parviflora Cav. was increased by the solution of thiourea SC(NH2)2
