anglais. The distribution of vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae in two agroecosystems was studied: one sustainable of maize in crop rotation and association, and another of maize monoculture. The mycorrhizal colonization was equal statistically in both agroecosystems. The colonization ranged from 60-80 %. The squash roots were not colonized by mycorrhizal fungi. The number of mycorrhizal spores was influenced by host plants and the season. The highest spore number was observed in summer, with 3,500 and 4,200 spores per 100 g soil in maize and Stizolobium rhizosphere, respectively. The dominant mycorrhizal species were influence by crop rotation and association, these and other factos influencedf also the agroecosystem productivity. Fifteen endomycorrhizal species were identified.

La distribucion de la endomicorriza vesiculo arbuscular fue estudiada en un agroecosistema sostenible de maiz, con rotacion (Stizolobium) asociacion (maiz-calabaza) y en otro con practica de monocultivo (testigo). No existieron diferencias en la colonizacion endomicorrizica entre ambos agroecosistemas y esta fluctuo entre 60 y 80 porciento. En las raices de calabaza no se observo colonizacion endomicorrizica. El numero de esporas fue influenciado por la planta hospedante y la estacion del ano. En el verano se presento el mayor numero de esporas: con 3,500 y 4,200 en 100 g de suelo en la rizosfera de maiz y Stizolobium, respectivamente. La rotacion y la asociacion determinaron las especies dominantes de hongos endomicorrizicos, las cuales, junto con otros factores, influyen la productividad del agroecosistema. Se identificaron 15 especies endomicorrizicas.
