anglais. The information generated by 84 productivity experiments was analized. Results indicated that nitrogen had the greatest influence on crop yields in the edaphoclimatic units (EU) of Serdan, Coyotepec and Tlachichuca. For the EU of Gpe. Victoria de most significant technological components were: sources of nitrogen and phosphorus, planting date, and fertilizer application opportunity and fraction. The marginal economic analysis indicated that under the present risk conditions, crop management, production costs and grain and stover prices, the corn crops is profitable only in the EU of Serdan and Tlachichuca

Los resultados indicaron que el nitrogeno fue el factor tecnologico que mas influyo en los rendimiento del cultivo en las unidades edafoclimaticas (UE) de Serdan, Coyotepec y Tlachichuca; para la UE de Gpe. Victoria, los componentes tecnologicos mas significativos fueron: fuentes de nitrogeno y fosforo, fecha de siembra y oportunidad de aplicacion y fraccionamiento de fertilizante. El analisis economico marginal indico que en las condiciones actuales de riesgo, manejo del cultivo, costos de produccion y precios actuales del grano y rastrojo, el cultivo del maiz solo es redituable en la EU de Serdan y Tlachichuca
