Eight fertilizer trials conducted for three years in farmers' fields in irrigated areas of Dera Ismail Khan district to evaluate the effect of different combination of N, P, and K on the yield of sarson (B.compesteris). Sarson variety of westard and tawar were used for these studies. Trials were conducted using randomized complete block design with 2 to 3 replications. Results showed that the effects of treatments were significant during all the three years of study, while the main effects of sties were significant during 1990-91 and 1992-93 and the interactions were significant only for 1991-92. All the fertilizer treatments increased the yields significantly over control. The effects were not independent of sites during 1991-92. Most of the experimental sites were deficient in N and either P or K and responded to the combined application of the three major nutrients.
