Inheritance of resisitance to powdery mildew (Oidium lycopersici Cooke et Masse) at wild species of Lycopersicon and their suitability to breeding of resistant cultivated tomatoes
1995
Kozik, E.
Inheritance of resistance to powdery mildew derived from three wild species of Lycopersicon (L. pennellii, L. hirsutum and L. chilense) was dominant, controlled by different numbers of of genes depended on sources of resistance. Three dominant cumulative genes of resistance were found in L. pennellii, two incompletely dominant genes in L. hirsutum, and one incompletely dominant gene as found in L. chilense. The lowest selfincompatibility was found in L. pennellii, where activity of pollen tubes in transmission traits of pistil was similar to L. esculentum. Self-compatibility in L. pennellii was not at the same level as in L. esculentum
