In 1989-92 the field and laboratory experiments were carried out to study the effects of previous crops of Tibo and Dino field bean cultivars and Boruta oats treated with various rates of N fertilizers (0; 30; 60 and 90 kg/ha) on subsequent winter wheat growth and yields. The field bean cultivars had more favourable effects on wheat grain yield, total protein content, yield per ha and crop structure as compared to oats used as previous crop. No differences in the effects of field bean cultivars were observed. The increased N rates (to 90 kg/ha) resulted in improved grain yields and higher total protein contents of wheat
