Growing ability of barrows and gilts in basic populations

Based on the modelling of growth curve in accordance with Richard's function a positive impact of the hybrid programme implementation on growth ability of all studied breeds and breed combinations (BU, L, Pc, BL, D, H, Pn, CVM, BU-OL, OL-85, OL-88 and OL-95) was detected. A higher growth intensity of barrows was certified. Within the maternal lines, the highestgrowth ability evaluated by the maximum daily gain in inflected point in gilts or in barrows was detected in the L breed (1.013 and 0.70 kg resp.), and paternal breeds besides BU-OL, the H breed (0.964 and 1.048 kg resp.) and in paternal lines Ol-95 (1.014 and 1.104 resp.)
