Field tests in large-scale swine production units determined production performance levels for pig hybrid combinations used by those large-scale farms and determined the importance of the effects on individual performance traits. The production capacity achieved by individual genotypes was assessed within a farm and among farms using biometric models with random effects. In large-scale production operations, manifestation of genetic factors in slaughter value traits is manifested only to a minor extent; the effect of sex is significantly reflected in sales of farms with appropriate animal husbandry/veterinary techniques; and pork quality is determined mainly by environment
